Butterscotch Cake Recipe

Butterscotch cake recipe alone will make your mouth water! It is a tender sweet sponge with layers of butterscotch and butterscotch sauce with icing and frosting on top. The cake serves best for special occasions and is a must try.

Butterscotch Cake Recipe With Ingredients and Directions:

Ingredients for Sponge:

  • Eggs 6 Pcs
  • Sugar, grind it 125 Gms / 12 Tbsp
  • Plain flour 125 Gms /12 Tbsp
  • Baking powder 1 Tsp
  • Vanilla essence few drops

Ingredients for Butterscotch:

  • Sugar 100 Gms
  • Butter 25 Gms
  • Nuts, mixed 50 Gms

Ingredients for Butterscotch Sauce:

  • Sugar 200 Gms
  • Butter 60 Gms
  • Salt ½ Tsp
  • Cream 200 Gms
  • Milk 100 Ml

Directions for Sponge:

  1. Take a large bowl and beat the eggs with sugar until it becomes foamy
  2. Also, add vanilla essence while mixing very thoroughly
  3. Sieve the mixture and then add the flour and baking powder to it
  4. Use a spatula to mix the batter with light use of hand
  5. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees
  6. Divide the batter into two B inch pans and bake in the preheated oven
  7. Let the sponge cool at room temperature

Directions for Butter Scotch:

  1. Meanwhile, melt the sugar in a pan on low flame along with butter
  2. Add the crushed nuts as well while mixing well
  3. Pour the mixture into a butter papered plate and spread it to cool it down
  4. When the mixture becomes completely hard, break it down into small pieces and use a rolling pin to make crush out of it
  5. You can also store the remaining in an airtight jar for later usage

Directions for Butterscotch sauce:

  1. Take a pan and melt sugar in it and add butter and salt very carefully while stirring it properly
  2. Then add the milk and cream in a cup and mix the caramel in it while stirring until it becomes thick
  3. Let the mixture cool down

Directions for Assembling:

  1. Mix 2-3 tbsp of condensed milk into 1 cup of water
  2. Divide the cake into two halves
  3. Soak the cake in milk mixture
  4. Beat the cream by adding 3-4 tbsp butterscotch sauce in it
  5. Now spread the cream, butterscotch and butterscotch sauce on one half of the cake and cover it with a second half of the cake
  6. Make three to four layers or as much as you wish
  7. Top the cake with the remaining butterscotch sauce and refrigerate for a few hours
  8. The creamy delicious cake is ready to be enjoyed by the whole family
