Cheesy Scotch Eggs Recipe

The traditional Cheesy Scotch Eggs are a British picnic classic. They are an excellent brunch time healthy snack and can be consumed at any time of the day. The children love to have them at any time of the day. Check out the simple recipe for the yummy snack below.

Cheesy Scotch Eggs Recipe with Ingredients and Directions:

Ingredients for Filling:

  • Boiled eggs as required
  • Boneless Chicken / Beef Mince 1 Pao
  • Onion small 1 Pc
  • Capsicum very small 1 Pc
  • Breadcrumbs 2 Tbsp
  • Black pepper ½ Tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Allspice powder ½ Tsp
  • Red chili flakes (optional) ½ Tsp
  • Hard/ Medium boiled eggs 2 Pcs
  • Cheddar cheese as needed
  • Paprika ¼ Tsp

Ingredients for Sauce:

  • Chilli garlic sauce 2 Tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Red chili powder ¼ Tsp
  • Black pepper ¼ Tsp


  1. Add the boneless chicken or the beef in the food processor along with capsicum, onion, black pepper, salt, chili flakes, bread crumbs and allspice powder
  2. Chop the ingredients very finely
  3. Then wet your hands and wrap the boiled eggs with mince forming balls and set them aside
  4. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees
  5. Take a separate small bowl and mix all the ingredients in the sauce
  6. Also, shred the cheese in a separate bowl
  7. Transfer the big meat balls into an ovenproof plate and pour the sauce on top of them
  8. Then sprinkle the shredded cheese and paprika on the balls as well
  9. Bake the egg balls in the preheated oven at 180 degrees until the cheese melts and the mince seems well cooked
  10. You can also fry the eggs first and then bake them after sprinkling cheese and rolling in breadcrumbs
  11. Serve hot and enjoy the bubbling cheesy Scotch Eggs with your favorite salsa or dips
