Chicken Palak Recipe

Meat is one of the most protein enriched and nutritious of foods. When it combines with palak/spinach, the combination just becomes perfect. Check out the healthy recipe to make chicken palak at home!



  • Spinach 1 kg, wash and cut
  • Mutton/ chicken ½ kg
  • Red chili powder 1 and ½ Tsp
  • Turmeric powder 1 Tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 Tbsp
  • Coriander Crushed 1 Tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Cumin seeds 1 Tbsp
  • Fenugreek seeds 1 Tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 and ½ Tbsp
  • Brown onion 5 Tbsp
  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Vinegar ½ Tsp
  • Oil 1 cup
  • Coriander leaves as needed
  • Green chilies as needed

Directions for Chicken Palak

  • Wash the spinach
  • Put the spinach in a pot and add 1-2 glasses of water along with green chillies, turmeric powder, methi dana, ginger garlic paste, salt
  • Also add some vinegar which will enhance the colour of the spinach
  • Cover the pot with lid and cook on medium low heat until it’s soft
  • Take another pot and add oil, cumin powder, ginger garlic paste and salt
  • Add the meat to this mixture and stir and fry until it’s done and changes colour
  • Now add the yogurt and red chilli powder along with coriander powder while mixing
  • Cook the mixture for a few minutes until the oil separates while adding brown onion and all spice powder
  • Grind the spinach very finely then mix it with the meat mixture until the consistency is acquired
  • Serve hot along with naan and rice
