Doodh ka Halwa Recipe

Most lunches or dinners seem incomplete without a sweet dessert at the end. After meal sweeteners have a long range of variety but this recipe is of the simple doodh ka halwa which can be made quickly and has the ability to extinguish the sugary cravings. Doodh ka Halwa Recipe With Ingredients and Directions:

  • Doodh (Milk) fresh 2 Ltrs
  • Pani (Water) 1 Tbsp
  • Lemon juice 1 Tsp
  • Cheeni (Sugar) ½ Cup or to taste
  • Asli ghee (Pure clarified butter) 2 Tbsp
  • Elaichi powder (Cardamom powder) ½ Tsp
  • Pista (Pistachios)


  • Boil the milk in a pot while stirring and cook until the milk is reduced to half of the quantity, it might take upto 30 minutes
  • Add lemon juice in the water and mix it
  • Start adding the lemon juice in milk gradually while stirring continuously on medium flame
  • When the mixture looks like a curdle after 25-30 minutes, add the sugar and keep mixing until the sugar is fully dissolved
  • Now add pure clarified butter along with cardamom powder and mix well for 5 minutes or until the mixture stops sticking to the sides of the pot
  • Grease the baking dish with a little ghee then add the mixture to the greased mould and press it
  • Cover it with aluminium foil and let it set for about 4 hours
  • Cut it into desired shapes and serve after garnishing with pistachios
