  • Ghee 1 Tbsp
  • Anday (Eggs) hard boil 6 Pcs
  • Ghee ½ Cup
  • Darchini (Cinnamon) 1-2 Pcs
  • Hari elaichi (Green cardamom) 2 Pcs
  • Laung (Cloves) 2 Pcs
  • Badi elaichi (Black cardamom) 1 Pc
  • Sabut kali mirch (Black peppercorns) 3-4 Pcs
  • Badiyan ka phool (Star anise) 1 Pc
  • Tez paat (Bay leaf) 1 Pc
  • Zeera (Cumin seeds) 1 Tsp
  • Pyaz (Onion) sliced 2 Pcs
  • Adrak lehsan paste (Ginger garlic paste) ½ Tbsp
  • Tamatar (Tomatoes) sliced 2 Pcs
  • Namak (Salt) 1 Tsp or to taste
  • Jaifil powder (Nutmeg powder) ¼ Tsp
  • Javatri powder (Mace powder) ¼ Tsp
  • Haldee powder (Turmeric powder) ½ Tsp
  • Lal mirch powder (Red chili powder) 1 Tsp or to taste
  • Garam masala powder ½ Tsp
  • Dhania powder (Coriander powder) 1 Tsp
  • Dahi (Yogurt) whisked ½ Cup
  • Hari mirch (Green chili) crushed 1 & ½ Tsp
  • Podina (Mint leaves) handful
  • Hara dhania (Fresh coriander) handful
  • Hari mirch (Green chilies) 3 Pcs
  • Chawal (Rice) sella basmati 2½ Cups
  • Zarde ka rang (Yellow food color) ¼ Tsp or as required

  • Podina (Mint leaves) handful

  • First of all, boil the rice and the whole spices until they are ¾ done, set them aside after straining
  • Boil the eggs until hard and remove the shells
  • Take a frying pan and melt some ghee
  • Fry the eggs until they are golden brown
  • Melt some ghee in a pot and add cinnamon sticks, green cardamom, cloves, black cardamom, black peppercorns, star anise, bay leaf and cumin seeds while mixing them well for about a minute
  • Add the onion and fry well until golden brown
  • Add the ginger garlic paste next and mix it well
  • Then add the tomatoes and keep stirring while cooking for about 2 more minutes
  • Now add the salt, nutmeg, mace powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder and mix them all
  • Pour the yogurt on the mixture while mixing
  • Add the green chillies and keep cooking and mixing until the oil separates
  • Add the boil eggs now and mix carefully
  • Now Add the mint and coriander leaves, green chillies, boiled rice, yellow food colour and cover the pot
  • Steam cook the contents on low flame for about 10 minutes until the steam begins to come out of the cover
  • Serve hot along with raita
