Pink Tea Recipe

Pink tea, also known as Kashmiri chaye, is very popular among the desi households. People who happen to taste it first time also find it very refreshing and satisfying. As the winters are here, pink tea has become a must to put an end to the chilly nights and days.

Pink Tea Recipe With Ingredients and Directions:

Ingredients for Kehwa:

  • Paani (Water) 4 Cups
  • Kashmiri tea leaves 4 Tsp
  • Badiyan ka phool (Star anise) 1 Pc
  • Cloves (Laung) 3-4 Pcs
  • Elaichi (Cardamom seeds) crushed ½ Tsp
  • Namak (Salt) ½ Tsp
  • Baking soda ¼ Tsp
  • Thanda pani (Chilled water) 2 Cups

Ingredients for Pink Tea:

  • Doodh (Milk) 2½ Cups
  • Badam (Almonds) crushed ½ Tbsp
  • Pistay (Pistachio) crushed ½ Tbsp
  • Cheeni (Sugar) to taste
  • Kehwa 4 Tbsp
  • Badam (Almonds) crushed for garnishing
  • Pistay (Pistachio) crushed for garnishing

Directions:

  • Take a kettle and add water to it along with kashmiri tea leaves, star anise, cloves, cardamom seeds, salt, baking soda and bring them to boil
  • Let the mixture simmer for half an hour or until it is reduced to half
  • Then add chilled water and cook for another 5 minutes while mixing it well
  • Strain the mixture and set it aside as the kehwa is ready which can be refrigerated and used for 4-5 days
  • For the tea, add milk in the kettle along with crushed almonds, ground pistachio and sugar if you wish
  • Mix the contents and add the kehwa to it while cook for a few minutes
  • Pour the tea in cups as the liquid delicacy is ready to be enjoyed hot
