Singaporean Rice Recipe

Singaporean Rice is very popular amongst Pakistani wedding menus you might have seen the platter of aromatic rice topped with creamy and saucy fried noodles. Though we are not sure if it typically originates from Singapore you should surely try this delight at home. Check out the recipe below and get to work!

Singaporean Rice Recipe With Ingredients and Directions:

Ingredients:

  • Chicken breast fillets 3-4 Pcs
  • Rice ½ Kg
  • Noodles ½ Packet
  • Capsicum 2 Pcs
  • Carrot 2 Pcs
  • Cabbage 1 Cup
  • Green chilies 4-5 Pcs
  • Garlic cloves 4 Pcs
  • Onion medium 1 Pc
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 Tbsp
  • Red chili flakes 1 Tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 Tsp
  • Mayonnaise 1 Cup
  • Oyster sauce 2 Tbsp
  • Worcestershire sauce 2 Tbsp
  • Ketchup (optional) 2 Tbsp
  • Chilli garlic sauce 2 Tbsp
  • White pepper ½ Tsp
  • Black pepper 1 Tsp
  • Corn flour 2 Tbsp dissolve in water.
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying noodles and for cooking.

Directions:

  • Boil the water with a pinch of Turmeric or yellow food color
  • Add the noodles to the boiling water and boil until they are soft
  • Drain the noodles and fry them in preheated oil and place them on a paper towel after they are fried
  • Now take a deep pan and boil water in it along with salt, cumin seed, 2 tbsp of oil
  • Add the pre-washed and drained rice to the boiling water and cook until they are soft
  • Cut the green chilies and garlic cloves in longitudinal shapes and fry them in the oil, set them aside
  • Next cut the carrots, capsicums, and cabbages in cubes
  • Take a pan and fry the ginger-garlic paste for 15 seconds on high flame, then add the chicken cut into cubes and fry them along until they turn golden brown
  • Add the vegetables now along with salt, white pepper, black pepper, oyster sauce, worchestire sauce, ketchup and chili garlic sauce
  • Also, add the ½ cup of chicken stock along with cornflour dissolved in water while mixing all the contents together
  • Once the mixture becomes thick, remove from the stove and set it aside
  • Mix mayonnaise in a small bowl along with red chili flakes and water to form a creamy sauce
  • Form a layer of boiled rice in a dish, then spread the chicken and vegetable gravy on it, give another layer of rice and then spread the mayo sauce along with the fried green chilies and garlic
  • Lastly, spread the noodles and serve the delicious creamy layered Singaporean rice
