Turkish Spicy Ezme Salad Recipe

Though it seems like a lot of work for a side dish, but once you taste this turkish delight, you would definitely want some more! It can either be served as a cold starter or as a companion to your grilled lamb or fish. It is perfectly healthy and nutritious for diet conscious people as well.

Turkish Spicy Ezme Salad Recipe With Ingredients and Directions:

  • Medium tomatoes 3 Pcs
  • Medium onion 1 Pc
  • Large green peppers/chillies 2 Pcs
  • Fresh mint 1 handful
  • Fresh flat leaf parsley 2 handfuls
  • Red pepper flakes 1 Tbsp
  • Sumac 1 Tsp
  • Olive oil
  • Lemon juice 1 Tsp
  • Salt (as desired)


  • Deeseed the tomatoes after peeling them and shape them into dices with a sharp knife
  • Also peel and chop the onion very finely
  • Cut the pepper and chillies lengthwise and deseed them, then chop them too
  • If needed, re-chop the ingredients again as they need to be chopped very, very finely
  • After straining all the excess juices away, mix the tomatoes with onions and chillies in a bowl
  • Now add the spices and mix very thoroughly
  • Finally, add the lemon juice and olive oil in the end
  • After mixing thoroughly, garnish with some extra parsley on top
  • Green, healthy and spicy Turkish Ezme salad is ready to be enjoyed
