Russian Salad


Overview:

Russian Salad, also known as Olivier salad, is a traditional Russian dish made with diced potatoes, vegetables, and mayonnaise. It’s often served cold as an appetizer or side dish.

Ingredients:

  • 3 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 carrots, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 1/2 cup pickles, diced
  • 1/2 cup boiled chicken or ham, diced (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh dill for garnish

How to Make It:

  1. Cook the Vegetables: Boil the diced potatoes, carrots, and peas until tender. Drain and let cool.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked vegetables, pickles, and diced chicken or ham if using. Add mayonnaise and mix until well coated.
  3. Season and Serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with fresh dill and serve cold.
